Matchsticks pop art painting

Matchsticks

So I was taking a walk and I happen to find a pack of matches on the ground, which had this pizza guy on there.

The pack of matches was tattered, and the front of it was almost torn off. But I took it home.

I wanted to paint it. I thought it was great. And when I took it back to my copy stand, all I did was move the face from the main image to the other side of it. I thought the composition was perfect.

After I created this painting, I didn’t intend it, but it looked like a Roy Lichtenstein. I think it’s just because of the gray and the yellow.

This is one of my favorite paintings.

Superb pop art painting

Superb

The name of this painting is called “Superb”, and it’s I guess some people might say a little politically incorrect, but it was a perfect storm of found images.

The devil made me do it. I just had to paint this.

In the foreground is the “trick pee boy”. And I liked him because he was just kind of like checking things out, thinking about things walking along.

The girl in the back was from a Wildwood, New Jersey decal. And she was doing her little beach pose.

And then I found a little package of kids caps that you put in toy guns and then explode. The package happened to say “mammoth caps“, which is a colloquialism for breasts, which makes this totally politically incorrect. But I think it’s too funny.

Tight Seal pop art painting

Tight Seal

The name of this painting is called “Tight Seal“.

One day, I was walking in the city and found a little gasket box. It’s a tank ball for a toilet I think, but I loved the art on the cover [of the gasket box].

To put it all together, all I did was I found this advertisement. I think it said “wow” or “pow” and I ripped that.

I was inspired to start ripping things after I saw the first Sex Pistols album cover.

This is one of my favorite paintings.
